It is a a ritual tool some call it a goblet or even a cup. It can be made of any type of material. It is said that the chalice also corresponds to the cauldron, it represent the womb, rebirth. A chalice is placed on the altar and is used to represent water. Some wiccans also use the tool to drink from, it depends on the ritual.
